From July 28 to August 15, 2025, the Sino-German Advanced Vocational Education Cooperation Project (SGAVE) conducted a faculty training program in Mechatronics Technology at the Sino-German Smart Manufacturing Industry-Education Integration Demonstration Base. Professional instructors from multiple institutions nationwide engaged in in-depth practical training through the “classroom-as-workshop” model, gaining advanced expertise in mechatronics technology applications. This initiative successfully integrated Germany’s dual-track vocational education philosophy with China’s vocational education practices, fostering a distinctive Chinese vocational education system. The program provided invaluable insights and experience for future teaching endeavors.
Participating teachers stated that during this training, they gained hands-on experience operating industrial-grade equipment and addressing real production line challenges. This provided a deeper, more tangible understanding of the core principles and operational challenges of mechatronic systems. Particularly noteworthy was the trainer’s “six-step teaching method,” which effectively balanced the instructor’s guiding role with the students’ active participation. This approach offers robust support for guiding student practice back at school and cultivating skilled professionals who meet industry demands.
As a partner in the SGAVE project, RheinKost has consistently provided faculty training services in the field of smart manufacturing to multiple pilot institutions nationwide.
