From 26th to 27th of April, 2021, SiChuan Vocational Education Open to the Public Event & Sichuan—Bavaria Vocational Education and Industry Development Seminar was held in YiBin. The event was held for establishment of educational resources exchange platform between Sichuan province and foreign states, as well as for promotion of development of vocational education in Sichuan. Experts in vocational education, government officers, and leaders from dozens of colleges attended the event and discussed topics on the development and future of vocational education. 

The event was jointly held by China Education Association for International Exchange, The Education Department of Sichuan Province, Office of Foreign Affairs Committee of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, The People’s Government of Yibin City, State of Bavaria China Office, XiHua University, and YiBin Vocational and Technical College. The event has been strongly supported by Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Culture&Education of State of Bavaria. The attendee involves representatives from 93 universities and vocational colleges, and managers from 18 municipal   administration departments; additionally, the event invited representatives from German Consulate in Chengdu, German Institute in China and enterprises. Mr Cui Zhi, the general manager of Rhein-Koester, represent the event as the representative of enterprises in German Bavaria.

Mr Roland Wagter, the deputy minister of Bavaria Economic, Development and Energy Ministry, made speech during the event. He indicated that the enterprise plays a crucial part in vocational education, he is glad to see the Siemens and Rhein-Koester plays important parts in Chinese vocational education and talent development. 

Dr. Lucie Merkle, the chief representative of State of Bavaria China Office, offered her congratulations to Yibin on their great achievements in vocational education, additionally, she expressed greetings to Siemens, Rhein-Koester, Hanns Seidel Stifung and other institutes in Bavaria.

During the event, the signing ceremony of SiChuna (YiBin) Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing Industry-Education Demonstration Base was held. Chen Sheng, the head of YiBin ShuangCheng Service Bureau; Cui Zhi, the general manager of Rhein-Koester; Ming Liang, the general manager of YiBin Science&Education Group, signed the tripartite agreement. Dr. Lucie Merkle, the chief representative of State of Bavaria China Office; Zheng Lanrui, the representative of Bavaria (Asia) office in Western China; Yu Jihong, the vice director of YiBin Standing Committee; Tao Xuezhou, the vice mayor of YiBin; Tian Renlai, the deputy director of YiBin ShuangCheng Service Bureau; Zhu Zhigang, the 1st class investigator of municipal government, attended the signing ceremony.

The three parties will follow the cooperation principles of ‘Resource sharing, Complementary advantages, Win-win cooperation and Common Development’ to establish a long-term partnership, the parties would work together to promotes development and upgradings of digital manufacturing, internationalization, intelligent transformation  in Sichuan. Based on the Sichuan Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing Industry-Education Demonstration Base, the parties would construct three major platforms which focus on ‘Intelligent Manufacturing and Digital Economy Innovation’, ‘International Multi-Level Talent Training’, ‘Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Transfer and industrial Services’; and establish three innovative ecological of ‘Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Economy, Integration between Education and Industry’, which further enhance the integration between education and industry, as well as promotes talent development and higher the talent quality to meet the need of industrial transformation in Yibin.
