Good News — Rhein-Koester won the gold medal of the 4th “Governor’s Cup” Industrial Design Competition in Shandong Province

Recently, Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology announced the list of winners of the 4th “Governor’s Cup” Industrial Design Competition. The ‘Smart Factory’ training system of Rhein-Koester, which simulates the production process of Industry 4.0, was selected from more than 5,000 entries and won the gold medal in the competition.

As a small “intelligent” factory, Rhein-Koesters’ “intelligent factory” training system, which simulates the production process of Industry 4.0, it is jointly designed by the technical research and development teams from China and Germany. The system integrates a number of application technical functions in the field of modern industrial automation of Industry 4.0 in Germany, and has the characteristics of high flexibility and automated small-batch production. Each work unit can be flexibly adjusted and freely matched to meet the requirements of different skill-levels and different  technical training and assessment. All components of the system adopt industrial grade components that match the industrial site to simulate the production process of the real industrial site. The practical training site truly reflects the real industrial site, which effectively reduces the training cost of the production site and fit the design concept of low cost and high return. At the same time, the system retains the function of secondary development, students can design and modify the process, further exercise and improve the skill level.
