On September 20, 2022 Sino-German Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Conference was held. With the theme of “Science and Innovation Leading the World- Wisdom for the Future”, the conference took the form of a combination of online and offline events, with two main venues in Jinan and Munich, where experts from the science and technology communities of both countries were invited to conduct video-link dialogues.
Ling Wen, vice governor of Shandong Province, said in his speech that this year is the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Germany, and it is of great significance that this conference is held at the right time to build up an important platform for collaborative innovation and deepening cooperation between the two sides. Shandong is a big province of population, economy and science and technology on the east coast of China. Germany is a world power in science and technology innovation, with excellent scientific spirit and artisan tradition, and German manufacturing is renowned worldwide. Over the years, Shandong and Germany have achieved fruitful results in joint research and development, joint platform building and scientific and technological exchanges, and the cooperation between the two sides in many fields such as high-end manufacturing, information technology, new energy, biomedicine and business is advancing to a deeper level. Shandong and Germany have strong complementary industries and many points of convergence, and the prospects for deepening cooperation are very broad. We are willing to deepen scientific and technological cooperation with Germany in a wider scope and in a wider field to achieve synergistic innovation and mutual benefit.
During the conference, a total of seven highlights of science and technology projects for cooperation signed, the first batch of 46 technology and results of cooperation with German science and technology innovation was released on the spot, and showcased more than 60 German resource docking institutions in the province, 10 experts in science and technology from both sides made key technology recommendations, laying a deep foundation for Shandong and Germany to promote a wider range, broader fields and higher level of science and technology exchanges and cooperation.
Eric Moskwa, Director of the German Steinbeis Smart Manufacturing Technology Transfer Center and President of Rhein-Koester Group, attended the conference via video link and delivered a speech. He highlighted the global priorities of the German Steinbeis Group and the important role played by the network of Steinbeis member associations. As a member company of Steinbeis, Rhein-Koester, with its German headquarters in Munich, has developed and implemented the Industry 4.0 Smart Manufacturing Training System in cooperation with several well-known universities and companies, participated in collaborative R&D projects in the Central Innovation Program for SMEs (ZIM) which established by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy, and has successfully introduced the German “Dual System” in several cities in China. “He believes that this conference will be a great opportunity for the Chinese and German companies to learn more about the German training system. He believes that this conference will become a bridge of communication between China and Germany, allowing more Germans to understand China, and will also promote the increasingly close cooperation between Shandong and Germany in science and technology, becoming an important partner in science and industry cooperation.
