On September 20, 2023, the inaugural Zibo Talent Festival was grandly opened. In the afternoon of the same day, the press conference for the Zibo Smart Manufacturing Talent Bank was held at the Sino-German Smart Manufacturing Industry-Education Integration Demonstration Base. This event was hosted by the Zibo Municipal Education Bureau, Zibo Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau, and Zibo Daily, with Shandong University of Technology and Rhein Koester as the organizers.
During the event, Sun Yingtao, the Executive Deputy Secretary of the Zibo Municipal Committee’s Education Work Committee, Secretary of the Party Group, and Director of the Education Bureau, delivered a speech. He stated that advanced educational concepts and talent perspectives have already taken root, and with the strong support of the Smart Manufacturing Talent Bank project, Zibo will accelerate its transformation into an “advanced manufacturing powerhouse” and raise the banner of “new advancement in advanced manufacturing.”
Li Kai, a member of the Zibo High-tech Zone Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee, mentioned in his speech that the Zibo High-tech Zone is one of the first national-level high-tech zones. After 30 years of unremitting efforts, it has entered the fast lane of development.
In his speech, Mr. Su Shoubo, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Shandong University of Technology, mentioned that in the past two years, the Administrative Committee of Zibo High-tech Zone, Shandong University of Technology, and Rhein Koester have jointly established the Industry-Education Integration Research Center and the “Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing Excellence Engineer” Modern Industrial College, creating a new situation of deep integration and coordinated development between the university and the industry.
Mr. Sun Peng, Deputy Director of the Office of Integration of Production and Talent at the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, delivered a speech. He expressed hope that through this event, everyone will actively participate in the economic and social development of Zibo, jointly promoting the high-quality development of the city’s industries.
Mr. Li Zhimin, former Director of the Science and Technology Development Center of the Ministry of Education and Vice Chairman of the China Education Development Strategy Association, as well as the Chairman of the Professional Committee on Talent Development, gave a keynote speech. He mentioned that the Intelligent Manufacturing Talent Bank project aims to create a portrait of future intelligent manufacturing talent demand, using a cross-enterprise and cross-school training center and industry-education integration public service platform with localization characteristics based on German standards. This effort, based on real industrial scenarios, brings new insights to the development of national education.
In her presentation on “New Trends in Labor and Employment in the Digital Age,” Ms. Wu Shuai, Deputy Director of the Human Resources Market and Mobility Management Research Office at the China Academy of Personnel Sciences of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and Deputy Secretary-General of the China Labor Association, emphasized the importance of an “employment-oriented” approach. She encouraged universities and enterprises to continue focusing on digital vocational skills development, nurturing more innovative, applied, and versatile talents for the high-quality development of the country’s socio-economic endeavors.
